Horses and bunnies...what an interesting combination of animals you might say...but they are a great combination when trying to do therapy work with animals. It is difficult in the winter to get the horses clean enough to visit. When preparing for the recent wellness fair I actually had to bring Timber in the house and lift him into the bathtub to give him a bath and then it took SIX hours for him to dry. I even used a hairdryer for one hour!!! So the bunnies are easy to get ready for a visit. Some children might also be afraid of animals so a little bunny is not intimidating. But boy, you should see the faces of everyone in the library when a horse walks in!!! Sweet Manes of Honey Girl Farm has been the name of the therapy horses that visit but I am now going to call the reading part of my mission-Story Tails! Sweet Manes is perfect for the horses but the bunnies were feeling left out. So follow Story Tails on this website too! We have sweet bookmarks now too!
Upcoming events are-Paws to Read-Roseville Library-Tuesday evenings, Stillwater Library twice a month on Saturdays, Ponies on the Patio at the Woodbury Library-date to be determined! I will let you know of other events too!!!
