Today was a busy day! It started out with Topper and I visiting Boutwell Landing in Stillwater. We are hoping to set up regular visits there so the volunteer coordinator wanted to meet Topper. My background check is complete and Topper made a good impression so I think we are ready to go!

I know several people that have family members living at Boutwell Landing. There are over 600 residents in the different levels of care. It is such a beautiful facility and I will be honored to visit with the horses.

This evening my friend Heather stopped over to meet the horses and my menagerie of animals. Always great for the horses to meet new people and socialize.

Then after Heather left I decided it was Major's turn to take a ride in the minivan. He wants to please and have a job. He stands perfectly still when I put the halter on him. Such a good boy. He walked nicely to the mini van. Kizz was sounding off to Major as we walked away. Topper looked at me like..."what the heck, that is my job!" I brought him into the laundry room first to get familar with steps and doors. He walked right in. Then we headed to the minivan and he hopped right in with a peppermint treat on the floor.

The ride was a little noisy as he flared his nostrils and made some noise. There are horses along the way to my daughter's house. I was a little nervous that he was going to start kicking but he didn't. He just didn't understand what was happening.

At Amanda's (3 miles away) Owen enticed Major with some grass but Major wouldn't hop out of the mini van. I didn't make him get out because I figure getting in and going for the ride was enough. A couple of the neighbors came out because they couldn't believe I had a horse in a minivan!

We stayed about 45 minutes and then headed home. Major was eager to hop out of the van when he could hear Kizz calling for him. I think he will do great with a little more practice.

Anyone want a visit from a miniature horse in a minivan???
